Artist Statement
Big skies over a desert, punctuated by telephone wires, gas stations and used-tire shops - these details and the stories they tell are the inspiration for my paintings. I am drawn to situations where I see the human mind at work against the backdrop of an ancient earth.
Junkyards rust into the red dust, neon signs flicker off at dawn. The depiction of flickering, rusting and dusting are my contribution to cultural preservation.
In the miles of mesas and oilfields, I record all that I can as a native, contemporary storyteller of Southwestern lands.
